Dear readers, as the weather cools and the festive winter spirit starts creeping in, many of us eagerly anticipate a memorable holiday season. Among the many celebrations, there’s one that truly stands out, especially for snow polo enthusiasts, and that is the upcoming St. Moritz Snow Polo World Cup. This prestigious tournament, scheduled for late January 2026 (23rd – 25th), will once again take place on the stunning frozen Lake St. Moritz, offering a spectacular blend of sport and alpine elegance.

Now in its 41st edition, this world-class snow polo tournament promises dazzling play by some of the most talented international polo players, complemented by a lineup of esteemed partners who elevate the event to new heights. A highlight of this coming year’s event is the welcome addition of Investec as a new sponsor. Investec is a renowned international bank with over 25 years of heritage in Switzerland, bringing both prestige and strong financial backing to the tournament.

Another exciting newcomer is the Standing Rock team, a globally recognized Swiss-based polo outfit making its debut at the event, joining established sponsors such as Flexjet, Mackage, St. Moritz itself, and Azerbaijan – Land of Fire.
Of course, polo players are the heart of the excitement and set the atmosphere for the event. Team St. Moritz will feature returning stars Robert Strom and Aristide Faggionato alongside fresh talent Sébastien Aguettant and Argentine superstar Nico Pieres. Team Investec will make a powerful St. Moritz debut led by Brazilian captain Carlos Alberto Mansur. Standing Rock’s squad, captained by Swiss Philipp Müller, boasts three world-renowned snow polo specialists — Max Charlton, Raul Laplacette Jr., and Nacho Gonzales — all multiple-time champions at St. Moritz.

Last year’s finalist, Team Azerbaijan – Land of Fire, returns with its strong, established lineup and remains one of the leading contenders. This year also marks the Engadin debut of Spain’s Joaquín Castellvi, joining compatriot Pelayo Berazadi and local polo hero Tito Gaudenzi. Adding to the global flair, the polo-passionate Beh family from Malaysia will compete with siblings Joevy, Garvy, and Lovy, continuing the proud St. Moritz legacy for Team Mackage.

While VIP packages for this year’s gala evening at Badrutt’s Palace Hotel have already sold out, with only a waiting list available, there are still opportunities to experience the breathtaking action. Spectators can enjoy the heroic energy of the players, mingle with passionate snow polo fans, and indulge in the joyous atmosphere created against the magnificent backdrop of the Engadin mountains.

The snow-white Alpine resort chic style adds a stunning visual element that makes this winter tournament a stylish and glamorous start to the New Year, this once-a-year event is truly unmissable; do mark your calendar to surround yourself with world-class polo stars, elite sponsors, and an extraordinary atmosphere at this top-tier winter sports event, and experience the luxurious and enchanting allure of one of the world’s most elite Alpine resort destinations.
