Dear readers, for those of you who are seasoned watch collectors and connoisseurs, I suppose the Watches and Wonders in Geneva should be the expo you have pinned down in your diary as a highlight of this year in mid-April 2026. Beyond the excitement of seeing leading watch-making maisons unveil their innovative designs, one exhibitor in particular deserves a closer look, and that is the prestigious Swiss watchmaker, Eberhard & Co. The maison has selected their iconic timepieces that made with delicate designed dial as the main novelties highlight this year, which they might slip effortlessly into an elegant wardrobe this season.

Described as “miniature architecture on the dial”, the key feature of these timepieces is the “Clous de Paris”, a classic watch-making finish in traditional guilloche technique, composed of tiny three-dimensional pyramid-shaped reliefs that create a surface structured by precise volumes, highs and lows. The micro-facets of these pyramids catch and reflect the light, shifting in effect depending on the angle and bringing movement to the strict geometric rhythm of the pattern. As light changes, the dial appears to come alive, much like an architectural façade revealing different moods at various times of day or throughout the year.

In the “1887” collection, powered by the maison’s exclusive EB 140 hand‑wound calibre, the “Clous de Paris” motif underscores a pure, classic aesthetic inspired by the brand’s historical watches. The timepiece remains resolutely timeless with its clean dial, polished steel case and crown, and domed sapphire crystal with anti‑reflective treatment. Roman numerals combine with subtle rhomboid indexes, while sleek Dauphine-style hour and minute hands glide over the refined “Clous de Paris” surface. Paired with a luxurious black alligator leather strap or an exclusive jacquard silk strap, this “1887” model becomes an ideal office companion with a sharp navy pinstripe suit, or a plain navy super 120s wool suit and crisp white shirt, finished with either black leather Oxfords or clean white trainers for a relaxed yet polished twist.

In the “Chronographe 1887 Automatique” models, the “Clous de Paris” dial in argenté or deep blue enriches an already intricate composition, complemented by tone-on-tone subdials with azuré finishing that enhance the perception of depth and motion. Boasting an automatic mechanical movement, this chronograph blends sporty spirit with vintage charm, suggesting the sleek confidence of a classic car racer or accomplished sailor who values both performance and style. Offered in two dial colours, the blue version has a particularly magnetic appeal in my opinion; it evokes a charming gentleman who is adventurous, attractive, and undeniably successful, thanks to its versatile, saturated blue that expresses sophisticated masculinity.

The “Chronographe 1887 Automatique” timepieces continue the legacy of the collection with the maison’s exclusive EB 380 self‑winding calibre, while preserving the technical refinement within its polished steel case, sapphire crystal, and transparent caseback. A matching alligator leather strap in blue or black completes the look, making this timepiece a natural companion to a navy leather jacket and slim white jeans, worn with either a crispy white polo shirt or a sharp cotton shirt; as a finishing touch, add a pair of racer-style sunglasses and the watch becomes a perfect travel partner for long weekends at chic seaside luxury resorts.
After this preview of these impressive timepieces, which model speaks to you the most? And on what occasion can you imagine fastening one of these refined pieces to your wrist? May this inspire you in choosing your next beloved timepiece for the upcoming summer season!
